The lyrical team, named Revere are learning their new dance ready to perform at the first of three national competitions.
Lyrical dance is still a relatively new addition to the Solent Ravens, with this only being the third season the team have competed this style.
Revere is coached by Emily Smith and Sophie Greydon, who are working closely with the dancers to prepare them for their dance to ‘You Stole the Show.’
Emily said: “I’m really looking forwards to watching the girls compete this routine on stage, they have come so far with it already; watching them rehearse it is so exciting!”
The team is mixed of returners and new team members learning to dance together for the first time. Not only do they have to bond as a society buy also create relationships with each other that can be seen on stage.
Fresher Naomi said the opportunity to dance as part of a team on stage excites her most.
The team will continue refining and rehearsing their performance over the next few months as they aim to make a strong impression during their first competition.
Revere will appear at competitions in Manchester, Telford and Birmingham early next year, where they hope to steal the show and bring a first place trophy back to Southampton.
