FROM zero to potential heroes, Solent Mens Futsal are looking to clinch the title in a close race. After a disastrous campaign last season, the first team are looking to perform a complete u-turn on their fortunes. The goal. To win the league!
With just four fixtures remaining there are five teams within a single point of each other. Both Solent and Southampton have a game in hand over other title contenders Plymouth Marjon, Swansea and Bath. Only Cardiff are left with no chance to call themselves champions.
Having won four and lost two with no draws after 6 games, Solent sit third on 12 while top of the league Swansea better them by one. However, Solent does have two extra games to play, this leaves them in a prime position to win the league.
In a similar position is Southampton, who also have a game in hand over Swansea and sit just one point behind the league leaders. Southampton and Solent still have to play each other twice including the final game of the season which may be a title decider.
Solent face Cardiff this weekend in a home fixture to be played at the Solent Sports Complex. If they win this game and they go top of the table.
