CSSFL Round up
CLAYD Roach’s fearsome foursome spearheaded Butlocks Heath’s charge into the third round of the Southampton Divisional Senior Cup with a 10-1 thumping of Wildern Wanderers.
CSSFL teams enter the Southapton Senior Cup which carries the prize of a shot at some of the big boys of Southampton football such as Sholing, Totton and Eastleigh and with it a date at a St Marys’ stadium final.
Butlocks took a stride towards that reward with Jsck Attril weighing in with a hat-trick and and Jason Leach, Callum Oliver and Breaon Graham adding singles. Sam Wilson’s second half strike for Wildern was scant consolaitoin.
Chamberlayne Athletic saw off Madeinheath United 5-2, thanks to goals from Louis Lemesurier (2), Harry Chivers, Phil Gilbert and Harry Bragginton, Luke Powell and Chris Deveny replied for Madeinheath.
Ash Shergold’s second half winner booked Star Romsey’s place in the third round at the expense of Barleycorn and FC Shirley had too much for AFC Taurus, with Harrison Vidler’s double and Sam Ellis’s single seeing off a scant consolation for Jack Bunclark.
In the Southampton Junior A Cup, AFC Netley Sunday and Bakers FC kept cool heads to come through penalty shoot-outs against AFC Redbridge and Southern Sports respectively.
Goals from Harry Bartlett (2) and Iain Chalmers locked AFC Redbridge 3-3 at full-time with Netley (Roland Bryan, 2 and Sam Bessant). Joe Rippon, Troy Smith, Jack Hutchings and Reece Walker were the spot-kick sharpshooters who took Netley through 3-4 in the shoot-out.
Ryan Williams and Jimmy Cook got Southern Sports to 2-2 at full-time against Bakers FC, who won a tense shoot out 4-5, and were so excited they forgot to provide their scorers!
Elsewhere in the Junior A Cup, Eastleigh Town chased off Cranbourne 5-0, with Ryan Farrant, Dale Lyons, Keenan Farrant, Darren Street and an on contributing.
Holly Hill Hawks (Louis Baldacchino, Will Smith, Tom Kilroy and Connor Reed (2)) eased through 6-1 against Halfway Inn (Tom Martin).
Spike Islander beat Sporting Compass 5-2 with Connor Wilson’s double supplemented by singles from Leighton Guilan, Ashley Leach and Jimmy Lovelock. Alex Weir and Billy McCall supplied Compass’s goals.
Harvey Crews notched four as Solent Utd Reds thumped Unathletic Athletic 6-1. Oliver Barnard and Duane Williams weighed for Reds, with Tom Sketcher grabbing a consolation.
West Totton Wanderers edged a tight te with Wyvern Youth Reds 3-2, with goals spread around between Brad Stone, Daniel Meddings and Josh Relf. Lewis Nagle grabbed both Wyvern goals.
Marching into the third round of the Southampton Junior B cUp are AFC Netley Reserves (Dan Beal, Callum Wookey) 2-0 winners over AFC Hiltingbury, AFC Paxton , who supplied all the goals in their 6-2 win over Bishopstoke WMC. George Shotton 2, Ethan Anders, Lucas Spencer, Matt Knott scored in the right net, with Paxton netting two own goals.
Bursledon Utd (Mackenzie Lyons, Kristian Cozzolino) saw off BTC Sunday Reds, while Hamble United shrugged off Lyndhurst Sunday reserves 6-0.
Joe Strugnell and Jake Butt both notched doubles with Aaron Bodle grabbing a single.
Bradley O’Sullivan’s goal was the difference as Linden Tree saw off Solent Sports Sunday and Leigh Edmondson and Aiden Johnson both grabbed doubles as South Coast saw off AFC Eastleigh 7-2.
Bradley Turner’s goal took M&T (Sunday) to extra time against Southern Sports Youth, and he score from the spot to take his side through 5-4 in the shoot out, with Dean Kneller, Harvey Martin , Steve Willets and Callum Morton on target.
Cameron Early (2), Joe Lovell and Olly Lovell were on target to take Montfort through 4-3 at the expense of Holly Hill Reserves (Jack Rushby 2, Chris Cunningham).
In league action, Embley Park grabbed their first league win of the season, a 4-3 win which leaves Landguard Rovers bottom of Division 1. Isaac Hooper (2),Jack Vear and Kel Crook saw Embley leapfrog Landguard, who replied through Tapiwa Gonyora (2) and Stephen Gustave.
Despite Stuart Griffith’s strike, AFC Riverside are still looking for their first Division 2 win of the season after Jason Gradidge and Matt Bosanquet gave Mottisfont a 2-1 win, but Paxton United grabbed their first point of the season in a 2-2 draw with Lyndhurst (Jack Ison 2)
Horton Hawks top Division 3 after a 10-1 drubbing of London Airways. Jack Ormiston and James Bright both notchedfoursomes, with Tom Wheeler and Charlie Barrett adding singles.
Woolston T&L shared the goals around in their 5-1 win over Cottage. Hamish Garrell, Mitchell Symonds, George Fairless and Ryan Longhurst were among T&L’s scorers with Glenn Littleboy replying for Cottage.
Tom Ashton was at the double as Monks Brook beat Pavilion Panthers (Emmerson Summers) 2-1 to move level on points with West Totton Wanders at the top of Division 5.
Marchwood Rangers 9-0 win over Montague kept them at the top of Division 6 while pinning Montague to the foot.
Brad Raynsford led the way with four, as Freddie Marshall, Lewis Crooke, Sam Johnston and Jordan Williams grabbed singles,
The Middleton boys Owen and David grabbed the goals to give Buridge their first win of the season, a 2-1 victory over Riverside Rovers (Jack Hamon) as both sides look to break out of early season struggles.
The Bombay Boys are having a tough time of things in Division 7 and an 8-3 defeat to Newchester leaves them bottom of the pile.
A Keiran Divine hat-trick led the way for Newschester, with Henry Stone (2), Joe Stevenson, Eric Barnes and an own goal making up the total. Jacob Small, Adam Burt and an own goal gave Bombay Boys some consolation,
Wimpson turned on the second half power to make it four wins from four at the top of Division 9.
Leading AFC Southside 3-2 at the break, Wimpson ran in six second half goals.
John Callaway’s hat-trick was added to by Connor Bagent (2), Ben Clarke, Pavel Burdzy, Robert Lamb and Jack Cullan. Goals from Matt Atkins and Charlie Harris proved false hope for Southside.
The big battle at the bottom saw Compton grab their first three points of the season. Jarod Drury (2) and James Stead earned a 3-1 win which leaves Halfway Inn Reserves (Jordan Bassett) without a point.
