IN the latest episode of our Top Flight Talk podcast, we delve into the game week 36 of the Premier League, and how a certain south coast club has avoided the worst.
We discuss the importance of last weekend’s fixtures across the Premier League, from the Champions League race to Southampton’s fight to not be the worst ever team in the league.
As usual we welcomed some special guests to the studio to help digest all that happened:
Our first guest was, Dominique August who is our Premier League Expert. Dominique was joined by Faris Ibrahim, former Southampton Academy player and is now King’s College London starting right back.
The Saints 0-0 draw against Manchester City at St Mary’s Stadium confirmed that the Hampshire club will no longer go down as the worst ever Premier League team, surpassing the 11 point total Derby County got in the 2007/08 campaign.
The race for Champions League spot has now heated up, with four teams competing for the final two spots in the prestigious competition, we discussed Nottingham Forest’s chances of completing their miracle season by finishing in the Champions League.
And with an all English Europa League final to come we discussed both Tottenham and Manchester United’s current seasons, and their need to win the Europa League of the back of woeful domestic campaigns.
