Padel why is it becoming so popular?

With the steady rise of Padel, we visited Padel Quarter in Portsmouth to find out what it is like to play.

Padel is played on an enclosed court. A difference to tennis is that it’s played on a court that has glass walls.

Why is it becoming so popular?

Lord Mayor Abdul Kadir attended the grand opening of Padel Quarter in Portsmouth.

Latest figures from the LTA show that at the end of 2024, just over 400,000 adults and juniors in Great Britain played padel at least once in the preceding 12 months.

Padel Quarter uses Whatsapp to update players on news and to communicate with regulars.

Padel coach Eze Velazquez works full time teaching players of every level. Eze spoke about his journey to become a coach and how much satisfaction he gets from watching players improve daily.

Anyone can pay to play and you can hire rackets if needed.
