JOSH Burns who has played for the Solent football team for three years is leaving the team at the end of the season.
Solent third men’s team have not won away all season and sit third in the league, they travel away to Uni of Southampton who sit bottom of league, they’ll be hoping to pick up their first win away from home on the last day of the season.
Goalkeeper and captain Burns has played for the team for three years out of the four he has been at Solent University and is now leaving at the end of the season due to graduating.
Charlie Dartnell, the manager of the third team speaks on his captain; “He’s as loud on the pitch as he is off it, he never stops, a really good character in the dressing room. To replace Josh’s character is going to be tough but it’s a testament to him.’
Ellis Webb a teammate of Josh’s speaks his thoughts on his departure; “Sad to see Josh go, one of the best people you will ever meet, he gets you riled up for the game, always gives you a hug on the shoulder and always in your ear.”
Burns will be a big miss within the squad, fingers will be crossed to get the derby day win Wednesday and for him to go out on a high.
