Matchday experience at St Mary’s

Southampton fans at St Mary's watching Saints take on Birmingham City

SOUTHAMPTON took on Birmingham City at St Mary’s in the EFL Championship and strolled to a 3-1 victory.

Fans enjoyed pre-match entertainment in the Northam Fan Zone thanks to live music from TJ Quinn and Free Roaming Animals, followed by an interview with ex-Saint Bruce Grobbelaar.

In addition to this, the Saints Brass Band performed in the Family Zone before fulfilling their tradition of playing When the Saints Go Marching In moments before kick-off.

As Finn Azaz opened the scoring for the Saints, the home fans erupted with joy before the sound of Kernkraft 400 rang around the stadium.

At half-time, the customary race round the pitch took place but this time with a twist as the kids took on the parents and of course were victorious.

When the full-time whistle blew, the Saints fans were in full voice as Just Can’t Get Enough rang around the stadium.

The joyous Saints fans then returned to the Northam Fan Zone for some more entertainment from Free Roaming Animals.

The Saints fans will return for another match day experience at St Mary’s in three days’ time as Southampton take on West Bromwich Albion.
