Tonight Brendan Loughnane will attempt to become the first British two-time PFL champion while earning £1 million.
The PFL is back in action tonight, with Manchester native Brendan Loughnane facing undefeated Russian Timur Khizriev for the PFL featherweight title in Saudi Arabia tonight.
The Professional Fighters League offers a unique challenge compared to its competitors like the UFC, they offer a tournament instead of a rankings system, and the winners of the final each receive £1 million.
Loughnane is no stranger to the tournament, winning the prize money in 2022 against Marlon Moraes and losing out in the semi-finals to Jesus Pinedo last year.
17-0 Khizriev is no easy match for the Mancunian, the undefeated Dagastani wrestler is coming off wins against Brett Johns and Gabriel Braga and is aiming to claim his first title.
Being on the verge of becoming the first two-time British PFL champion 35 35-fight veteran Loughnane’s career could be coming to an end after this fight.
Speaking with the BBC the former champion said: “I’ve been knocked out, I’ve knocked people out, I’ve subbed people, I’ve gone the distance, I’ve tasted my own blood, tasted their blood, you name it I’ve done it,”
