Liverpool handed major injury boost ahead of crucial Merseyside Derby

AS the sun sets on the international break, attention turns back to the closing phases of the Premier League. League leaders Liverpool will host city rivals Everton at Anfield tomorrow night, as they look to extend the gap between Arsenal and themselves.

The reds are set for a significant injury boost ahead of tomorrows night’s clash – as goalkeeper Allison is expected to be available again following a concussion suffered on international duty with Brazil, while Ryan Gravenberch is also expected to be included in the squad despite a knock suffered in the Carabao Cup final a fortnight ago.

However, Arne Slot has confirmed that Trent Alexander-Arnold will be on the sidelines with an injury in what is likely to be his last ever Merseyside Derby.

The fixture was originally scheduled for early December but got postponed due to damages caused by storm Darragh. The two sides saw out a 2-2 thriller in February in the last ever Merseyside derby at Goodison Park.

Liverpool have been 2-0 victors in the last three Merseyside match ups at Anfield – and Arne Slot will be keen to grab his first ever win over the Toffees.
