Former NFL Star has pleaded not guilty to attempted murder after Miami shooting

Former NFL Star Antonio Brown has pleaded not guilty to a charge of Attempted Murder after a shooting in Miami in May.

Brown was arrested in Dubai last week and flown back to New Jersey with jail records showing that he was released on Tuesday for the transfer to Florida.

Brown’s Lawyer, Mark Eiglarsh, said he had filed the plea on Brown’s behalf and that his client could have a hearing as early as Wednesday for a bail hearing.

The victim, Zul-Qarnain Kwame Nantambu, told investigators that one of the bulletes grazed his neck.

A second-degree attempted murder charge in Florida carries a maximum 15-year prison sentence and up to a $10,000 fine in the event of conviction.

Antonio Brown spent 12 years in the NFL, he was an All-Pro wide reciever who last played in 2021 for Tampa Bay but spent most of his career in Pittsburgh.

For his career, Brown had 928 receptions, 12,000 yards and scored 88 total touchdowns counting both returns and passes.

During the 2021 game with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers against the New York Jets, Brown had an verbal incident with the Offensive Coordinator Byron Leftwich during the 3rd quarter which left with Brown taking off his jersey, shoulder pads and gloves and ran off the field, leading to the release by Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians and the organisation which ended his career.
