Southampton Sunday League round-up
AFC HUTWOOD took advantage of beating the weather by drawing level at the top of Division One with a big win over Taurus.
With just two games played, Hutwood moved level on points with Chamberlayne, who are top by virtue of their goal difference, with a 3-2 win, which knocked a dent in Taurus’s title hopes.
Jack Adams, Robert Owen and Paul Mail were on target for Hutwood, with Goncalo Pereira and Morris Dench replying for Taurus.
Lurking menacingly in fourth place, though, are Butlocks Heath who have a 100 percent record from their four games.
At the other end of the league, a Steve Deacon hat trick helped Barleycorn A see off AFC Eastleigh 6-2 in their Division Eight encounter. Rich Adams, Alfie Bennett and Jeffrey Akpotaire weighed in with singles, and Pedro Texeira and Demetrious Gibbs replied for Eastleigh.
London Airways interest in the Hampshire FA Sunday Trophy came to a tame ending with them unable to field a team for their trip to AFC Burton.
