Forest Green Rovers Seek Legal Action Following Savage’s Move to Peterborough

THE Forest Green Rovers chairman, Dale Vince has announced that the club will be taking legal action following former manager Robbie Savage’s move to Peterborough United.

Savage was appointed as Posh manager in October, replacing Luke Williams after a torrid start to the season, with the 52-year-old reportedly handed permission by Forest Green to discuss a potential move.

Nonetheless, speaking with Sky Sports, Vince has revealed that the case has become legal.

“It’s gone legal,” the 65-year-old told Sky.

“We’re suing Peterborough and Robbie Savage for £2million, which was the buy-out clause that we were cheated out of, and that process began last week.

“While he’s been denying any approach at all, it was him that did it and that’s quite aggrieving really. And so, we’re pursuing it because too often people just shrug their shoulders and say, ‘oh well it’s football isn’t it, it happens’.

“While it does happen in football, I don’t think we should allow badness in this world when we see it take place.”

Savage was in the dugout for 15 months at the New Lawn stadium, boosting a record of 1.7 points per game averaged.

Now seemingly without a manager, the Rovers have taken an obscure approach of operating without a out-and-out head coach – instead handing those responsibilities to a trio of first team coaches.
