Craig Davis signs new deal at Winchester City

Winchester City manager Craig Davis signs his new contract

MANAGER Craig Davis has put pen to paper on a contract extension at Winchester City that will see him stay at the club until the end of the 2026/27 season.

Having already been at the club for eight years, this new deal will see Davis’s tenure at the club surpass ten years.

Davis has managed over 350 games for Winchester and has said that his decision to stay was easy.

He said “I am absolutely delighted to be extending my stay into my 10th year now at the club by agreeing a further year’s contract.

“This is a club which is as close to my heart as any manager will feel towards their job, it really does mean so much to me after all these years.

“I have the very highest of respect for the board who I couldn’t ask for more support than I get from them over a number of years, the fans who are a real special band of people and of course the group of players I have assembled.”

Having been relegated from step three last year Davis is aiming for his side to bounce straight back up at the first attempt.

“I have a major desire to get us back to step 3.

“Whilst it has been really tough to rebuild the side, with our amazing youth we are integrating and the players who are really gelling, we have a chance over the term of my contract to do that.”
