Women’s Super League Game Week Nine Round Up

We are nearing towards the middle of the season for the Women’s Super League and like after every week we are left with surprises and upsets.

Manchester City walked away with all three points, all thanks to a Lauren Hemp second half brace.

Aston Villa now have two losses in a row and look to turn this around against Leicester City, otherwise they could see themselves in serious relegation danger.

Arsenal stunned Chelsea in the London derby with a 4-1 win, Johanna Rytting Kaneryd scored Chelsea’s only goal of the match.

Alessia Russo’s brace not only sealed the win but edged forward on the goal difference, only 5 goals now seperate top two going into next weekend.

Brighton and Hove Albion snatched all points away from Leicester City because of a Elisabeth Terland double in the last ten minutes.

Leicester shook Brighton scoring twice in two minutes but were unlucky to lose points very late on in the game.

Liverpool and Bristol City drew with only two goals being scored all game, but it was that point that edged the Robins out of the relegation zone.

Once again it was Sophie Roman Haug and Amalie Threstrup who pulled through and scored for their sides.

West Ham drop themselves into deeper danger as they lost to Everton with a narrow 1-0 scoreline.

It was Everton’s pair of identical twins that sealed the win with Sara Holmgaard assisting her sister, Karen Holmgaard for the goal.

Manchester United proved once again that they are finding their form again.

Hannah Blundell, Ella Toone, Melvine Mallard and Hayley Ladd all smashed four past Tottenham Hotspur without any reply leaving the Lilywhites in sixth in the table.

Come back on Sunday for a round up of Game Week Ten.
