IN the WSL, there has been quite a bit of movement between the clubs ahead of 2026 kick off in the sport, with multiple clubs already welcoming new faces and sending other players for new opportunities.
Here is every clubs in and out so far in the transfer window:
Arsenal:
Smilla Holmberg:
The Gunners signed 19 year old Smilla Holmberg on a long term contract, after her breakout summer where she featured for Sweden at Euro 2025, losing to England in the quarter-finals.
The right back comes from Hammerby where she recorded 96 appearances, scoring 10 goals and winning the league back in 2023 in Sweden.
Aston Villa:
Katie Robinson:
The Midlands club has had Katie Robinson return from her loan spell at Everton where she made 12 appearances for the blues.
Before leaving on loan, the forward made 16 appearances for the club and scored twice in the Women’s Super League.
Chelsea:
Maika Hamano:
The blues annouced today (5th January) that 21 year old, Maika Hamano would go to Tottenham Hotspur on loan until the end of the season.
Hamano has been with the West London side since 2023 in which she has won the league three times as well as other domestic titles.
Everton:
Katie Robinson:
Katie Robinson is the Blues only departure so far this transfer window. Robinson returns to her parent club, Aston Villa due to the end of her loan spell after making 12 appearances and being a crucial part of their Merseyside derby win..
Leicester City:
Emma Jansson:
The foxes have signed midfielder Emma Jansson on a two and a half year deal, the Norwegian has previously representated her country at the U23 level.
Jansson comes from the Swedish side FC Rosengard after helping them win the Damallsvenken in 2022 and 2024 and will look to bolster Leicester’s chances of a successful second half of the season.
Liverpool:
Alice Bergstrom:
The Merseyside club have added another defender to their ranks, just after earning her first senior call up for their Nations League tie against France.
Alice Bergstrom joins the Reds after winning the Damallsvenken with her former club, BK Hacken, all whilst representating Sweden at the U23 youth level.
Manchester United:
Lea Schuller:
The Red Devils signed German International Lea Schuller from Bayern Munich where she won 4 Frauen-Bundesliga titles and the DFB cup at her 5 and a half year tenure at the German giants.
The forward scored more than 100 goals for Bayern, whilst racking up 82 international caps and 54 goals for her country.
Hanna Lundkvist:
The club has also added 23 year old Hanna Lundkvist to their squad. The full back comes from San Diego Wave, whilst also previously spending time at Athletico Madrid, Hammerby and AIK.
At only 23 years old, Lundkvist featured in every 2025 Euros game for Sweden, with an international cap tally at 17, with more still to come.
Tottenham Hotspur:
Julie Blakstad:
Julie Blakstad joins Spurs after leaving Hammarby where she netted 15 goals in 26 games.
At only 24 years old, the Norway international has tallied up over 170 appearances in her career, previously featuring at Rosenberg and Manchester City to name a couple.
Maika Hamano:
The 21 year old Japanese International joins the North London side on loan from Chelsea until the end of the season.
Her impressive talents on the flanks rewarded her a move to Chelsea in 2023 where she went on to earn herself an international senior call up and she hasn’t looked back since.
Hanna Wijk:
The defender has joined the club on a long term deal after spending multiple years at her previous club, BK Hacken.
Just like all the other signings for Tottenham Hotspur, Wijk has already had a taste for silverware, already winning the Damallsvenskan twice and also the Swedish Cup.
Matilda Nilden:
Nilden, a 21 year old Swedish youth international, is one of the many Spurs signings of this transfer window.
Just like Hanna Wijk, the forward has also had her turn at winning the Swedish league just before she made the move to the North London club.
Signe Gaupset:
Taking the number 8 shirt for the Lilywhites is Norwgegian International, Signe Gaupset as she joins from SK Brann.
The 20 year old midfielder who can work in both a central and wide position was called up to Norway’s Euros 2025 where she went on to score a brace in the group stage and be nominated for the Golden Girl trophy.
Brighton and Hove Albion, London City Lionesses, Manchester City and West Ham are yet to sign a player or have someone leave during this transfer window.
