Winchester City 1-1 Melksham Town: Citizens Winless In Two

WINCHESTER City failed to get back to winning ways following their 4-1 loss the previous weekend, as they drew 1-1 with Melksham Town.

The home side took the lead just before the 30 minute mark, as loannee Dan Bradshaw found himself unmarked in the penalty area, with a empty net to fire into.

The Citizens continued their dominance with plenty of huge chances missed, with Melksham keeper Adam Forster eventually ending the game as the man of the match.

Into the second half, Melksham were able to get themselves level in the game after a mistake from Winchester defender Tom Bragg.

Following the result, manager Craig Davis said:

“It was bitterly frustrating, there was plenty of chances, we didn’t take them and credit to Melksham, they have some good players.”

Following the game, we spoke to fans about the fixture and to see what they thought of the encounter.

Thomas,19, said:

“It was good to bounce back following last weeks disappointment with a decent performance. Should have gone into halftime with more than one goal up, but unfortunately didn’t take our chances.”

“Their keeper had a very good game, so unfortunately we couldn’t get the win, but it’s a good game and hopefully can continue next week”.

Eden, 19, said:

“It was a lot better than last Saturday because it was very disappointing lost 4-1. I think the level of intensity shown, especially in the first half was a lot better than last week, but we still couldn’t get across the line.”
