With social media sensation KSI taking over Dagenham & Redbridge FC this month, our thoughts turned to what it really takes to run non-league football clubs.
Reporter Sam Fryer went to Poole Town FC to speak to Chairman Chris Reeves who has been chairman at the club for over 30 years.
Reeves saved the club from liquidation and has invested a substantial amount finically and of his personal time to keep the club alive and running.
Poole Town FC now sit in the play-off places in the Southern League Premier South and are one of the favourites for promotion.
Without Reeves the club simply wouldn’t exist, and this can be mirrored across English football’s non-leagues as figurehead volunteers remain at the foundation of the English game.
