England face Wales this weekend in their final game of the 2025 6 Nations with a slim chance of winning the 6 Nations away from France.
England are currently 2nd in the 6 Nations on 15 points, just one point behind league leaders France.
England have 3 wins 1 loss and 3 bonus points to give them 15 points whereas France has just one extra bonus point coming into the finale of the competition.
England face bottom of the league Wales who haven’t won a game all competition so expectations to win are high amongst England fans.
However, it didn’t go all their way in the last game against Italy as Italy fought back to get it to 14-14 in the first half before England pushed ahead to finally get a comfortable lead.
This has been one of the closest finishes to a 6 Nations the fans have seen in many years as three countries still have a chance to clench the title. England,France and Ireland all have three wins and one loss this year which means it will all come down to the last game.
France will be massive favourites to win it as if they win against Scotland without the Bonus point England and Ireland will have to win their games by over 60 points to even come close to France’s point difference.
However, the men in tartan could gift England the 6 Nations if they somehow pull off a miraculous win against the French in which all England would have to do would be to beat a struggling and poor Welsh team to clench the title.
Scotland’s last win at the Stade de France however was back in a close game in 2021 so it will be an uphill struggle for the Scots. in Last years 6 Nations France secured an well fought 20 – 16 win at Murray field so with home field advantage this year France’s chances of winning are very high.
Its been 5 years since England’s last 6 Nations win but two fifth places in the last 4 years have pushed England further away from the top.
A resounding win against Wales could be the push to get England back on top in Rugby Union and the 6 Nations.
