West Totton Wanderers opened their Division One league campaign with a bang, thanks to a 7-4 win over Millbrook on Sunday.
Cup interest has kept Totton otherwise engaged, but an Owen Hurst hat-trick and singles from Jack Francis, Evan Nelson, Charlie Hitching and Harry Vidler clinched their first points. Goals from Daryl Gilmartin, Ryan Philips and Shaq Unaka enabled Millbrook to make a game of it.
AFC Taurus are rooted to the foot of the table after suffering their third loss, a 2-5 defeat to Southern Sports. Matt Casey and Andy Powell notched twice and Errol Otway completed the scoring for Southern, with James Lewis and Nick von Bismark replying for Taurus.
Southern Sports Youth have taken an early grip at the top of Division Two, a 2-1 victory over Mottisfont making it four wins from four. Charlie Cole gave Font a half-time lead but goals from Charlie Glasspool and Richie Fernandez turned the game on its head and sealed the points for the home side.
Jack Ison’s haul led the way in Lyndhurst’s 8-1 mauling of AFC Hutwood, with Jamie Grassie (2), James New and Aaron Heskins adding to the damage. Xavier Jackson scored Hutwood’s consolation.
Sean Haines and Harrison Weeks sealed Athletico Millbrook’s first win of the season, a 2-1 win over GTFC for whom Brandon Williams scored.
Hedge End Town sit at the top of Division Four with four wins from four thanks to a 3-1 win over Solent Sports Titans. Dan Assadi (2) and Adam Swift were on form for Hedge End with Alex Popescu providing Solent’s consolation.
Unathletic Athletic are on Hedge End’s tails as Sean Kitchen, Chris Spanner and Joe Shaw helped earn a 3-2 victory over London Airways. David Rodgers and Will Capper replied for Airways who sit rooted at the foot of the table.
In Division Five, Humble Plumb rattled in five, but still ended with their second defeat from two games as Hythe Town went bananas. Goals from Sam Crabbe (2), Sam Pascoe and Anthony Sullivan were mere consolation for Plumb as Ollie Connor’s four goals led the way, with Jack Mann (2), Justin Dominey, Brandon Hill and Taylor White on target in a 9-5 win.
AFC Burridge bagged their first Division Six win of the season with a 5-2 win over FC Phoenix which leaves them pointless from three games. Bayley King, Addison Leng, Harry Miller and Jack Hurst sealed the points for Burridge, with Jamie Blyth scoring twice for Phoenix.
AFC Woodside ( Mackenzie Broadbridge, Liam Hounsell, Ryan House) saw off Hearts Athletic (TJ Foot, Jordan Gettings) 3-2 in the same division.
Division Seven leaders Michelmersh & Timsbury lost their 100% record to Solent Butchers who ominously made it two league wins from two. Kamil Nawabzada and Freddie Vine provided the cutting edge for Butchers, with Wayne Webster on target for M&T.
Sarisbury Spartans Thirds are in the early season mix with Aaron Edgington, Josh Finay, Michael Lab and Lewis Diroma sealing a comfortable 4-0 win over Blackfield & Langley B.
In Division Eight, Woodside Reserves drew level with leaders Bedes Lea with a 5-1 win over Boorley Green B. Shaun Bell (2), Tom Bell and Chester Ma were on target for Woodside, who have played two more games than Bedes Lea.
Andrew Probert (2), Billy Hugill, Jack Somers and Brad Moores were the marksmen in Chandler’s Ford’s 5-0 win over Harefield Utd.
Pavilion Panthers marched into the second round of the DR Ryder Trophy in style with a 9-2 win over Lakeside Sunday. Hat-tricks from Brad Raynsford and George Wingate were supplemented by singles from Jay Petty, Corin Atkinson and Jamie Cooley. Jack Polkinghorne and Kris Aubrey replied for Lakeside.
Boorley Green were a goal up at half time against Pavilion Panthers, but it was locked 2-2 at 90 minutes. Ollie Shapland and Owen Roles were Boorley’s scorers in normal time with Max Pitman and Brad Elkins taking it to spot-kicks, where Harvey Dysn, Ben Ward, Max Pitman and Jake Willis-Dellimore stepped up to fire Panthers through. Shapland and Luke Stroud converted for Boorley Green.
Sam Ashton (2), Jorge Abreu and Louis Baldacchino took AFC Boyatt Wood 4-1 runners out against Star Romsey. Goals in each half Charlie Willett and Adam Comber took Hamwic through against Embley Park.
Bursledon Men’s were too strong for Lyndhurst Reserves, with Duane Williams (2), Liam Higgins and Jamain Russell among the scorers in a 5-2 win.
Samuel Thornton, Sam Brown and Aaron Renwick were on target as Crackle Rock went through at the expense of Montfort. Cottage had an own goal to thank for their place in second round draw after a 2-1 win over Newchester. James Moorman was Cottage’s legit scorer.
Malachi Phillips’ hat-trick teed up Hamble Club’s 4-0 win over Tudor Wanderers Hamish Gartrell and an own goal earned Woolston T&L a 2-1 passage over Bishopstoke Suhnday.
In the first round of the Charlie Godden Trophy BTC, Sunday Red had goals from Liam Hathaway, Ben Lunnon and Grant Newham to thank for their 3-0 win over Fleming Athletic. Folland Sports advanced to the second round as Alex Hall (2), Robbie Slack (2) and Callum Harris sealed a 5-1 win over AFC Spitfire.
Owen Plunkett (2) and Tyler Bentley eased past Elephant & Castle. Ricky Hart and Jack Sheppard guaranteed Netley Royals second round spot with a 2-0 win over Pavilion Panthers Reserves.
