Var controversy at Craven Cottage

VAR has been a hot topic ever since it’s been introduced, dividing the footballing world into two with people being unsure on whether it is needed.

Multiple players and managers have made statements to the press and their social media accounts stating that they have had enough and change needs to be made.

The beautiful game as we all know and love is being jeopardised as the excitement for the game is slowly going away.

Fulham beat Wolves 3-2 in a controversial 5 goal thriller in which Fulham received 2 skeptical penalties.

A mid table clash where every point matters, these small decisions can have a big impact the club’s season.

Wolves manager Gary O’Neil expressed his disappointment in the refereeing. Previously he had been in favour of VAR however, with the lack of efficiency and consistency from the premier league officials, he has now changed his mind and believes that it should be scrapped.

Wolves midfielder Lemina also spoke on the matter by posting on his social media saying” I’ve always tried to understand that to a be referee its not easy at all, I’ve always tried to say to the players that we can do better during the game to win it. But now I give up. Enough is enough. Some strong decisions need to be taken. These things are ruining football.”

Everyone has their different opinions on VAR, let’s see whether it will be removed.
