BUKAYO Saka? Jean-Philippe Mateta? Nick Woltemade? Here are all the players that should be in your team for FPL gameweek nine.
A quarter of the way through the season this could be the perfect time to wildcard. As someone who is in the top 5% in the world, I’ll give you my pointers for your team selection this week.
At the back, an Arsenal double-up is absolutely essential. The Gunners have conceded three goals in all competitions this season and are on a run of four consecutive clean sheets. On track to beat Chelsea’s defensive record of 15 conceded in an entire Premier League season, two of their defensive assets are a minimum.
Gabriel is, of course, the number one pick after his Champions League goal in midweek. Jurrien Timber or David Raya will complement him nicely.
It might be worth taking the biggest piece of Newcastle’s defensive wall with 6’7 Dan Burn in the backline.
In midfield, Mohammed Salah’s recent form suggests he is one to transfer out, where as Arsenal’s good fixtures and set piece potency make Saka the perfect replacement.
Coming back into the team, Enzo Fernandez of Chelsea is a worthy option as he will likely continue to fill in behind Joao Pedro as the Cole Palmer replacement.
In attack, FPL royalty Erling Haaland is as essential a player as has ever been. He has scored 22 goals in his last twelve games for club and country, finding the net in every one of them.
To join him is Newcastle’s Nick Woltemade, who has scored four times in his last five Premier League games. Last week’s hat-trick means Mateta has to be considered too.
My team, as it stands, is below:
