The 2024/25 FAWNL fixtures have been released

THE FA Women’s National League have confirmed and released fixtures for 2024/25.

From midday today, FAWNL clubs across the country started to share their upcoming schedules for the new League season.

The #BigKickOff24 will commence on August 18th, an earlier start than in previous seasons.

Division One South West looks to be a highly competitive league this season, with newly-promoted Bournemouth Sports and Bristol Rovers joining the division, as well as Worthing who have made the switch from Division One South East.

More and more teams are announcing their transition into a semi-professional set-up, which sees teams of paid players facing unpaid players weekly.

It’s a divisive factor of the FAWNL that has stood for the past few years.

Nottingham Forrest Women recently announced that their First Team will become full-time professionals in the Northern Premier Division.

All involved will also be hoping for a smoother start to this year’s season in comparison to 2023/24, with the infamous fallout of the start of the fixture schedule colliding with the Women’s World Cup final, which of course featured the Lionesses.

It saw teams being fined for refusing to play so that everyone could enjoy the momentous occasion.

Despite the arguably uneven playing field (some pitches are in fact uneven), Tiers 3 and 4 of the Women’s Football Pyramid never fails to produce spectacular displays of talent, passion and sportsmanship.

So, keep your eye out on August 18th.
