Sunday League round-up

Boorley Green B emerged as the big winners of the week – despite being on the end of a 30-0 walloping.

Boorley could only raise eight players for their Division Eight clash with Chandler’s Ford, but rather than look for an excuse, they decided to go out and play.

They paid a hefty price but earned huge respect as they saw 30 goals fly past them as Chandler’s Ford took ruthless advantage.

A dozen players got on the score sheet, Ollie Burroughs leading the way with six, Jack Somers five, hat-tricks for Sam Piper, Charlie Smith, Charlie Crockford, and Jack White, a double for Billy Hugill, and singles from Sam Collins, Ollie Searle, Brett Stanley, Harry Crockford and Darsham Aurora.

By complete contrast, the other Division Eight fixture between AFC Spitfire and Netley Royals B ended goalless.

The goals flew in elsewhere, with Noble Arms Sunday rifling 12 without reply against M&T in the Charlie Godden Trophy. Lewis Nagle led the way with four, Archy Ford bagged two, and the rest of the goals were spread around with George Sharped, Joe Courtney, Dylan Male, Charlie Newcombe, James Hickman and Ryan Shirley all registering.

Netley Royals booked their place in the third round of the Godden Trophy with an 8-3 win over Hearts Athletic. Jack Sheppard and Harley Daish both bagged hat-tricks with Hakeem Ogunsanya and an own-goal completing the tally. Jonah Barclay and Jack Nutburn replied for Hearts.

NMCR rattled in seven without reply against AFC Burridge, Kieran Roper’s double was accompanied by singles from Tyler Bentley, Jake Platt, Sam Comely, Brad Goble and Kieran Winman.

In league action, Southern Sports kept up the pressure on Division One leaders Townhill with a 7-1 thumping of AFC Taurus. Andy Powell (2), Errol Otway, Ryan Williams, Matt Casey, Jack Rooke and Aaro Burnett left Taurus (Theo Bessant) still looking for their first league points.

Monks Brook sprung a shock in Division Two, ending leaders Southern Sports Youth’s 100 percent record with a 6-2 defeat. Harry Edmondson’s double and singles from Dave Lawton, Tom Ashton, Nathan Roles and Dan Strange did the trick, with Charlie Glasspool’s double a mere consolation.

GTFC moved two points behind Southern Sports with a game in hand after a 4-2 win at Lyndhurst. Brandon Williams, Charlie Cooper, Iyaaz Cawsey and Luke Bailey did the damage, with Aaron Williams and Aaron Heskins replying for the Foresters.

Hop Inn are searching for their first point of the season after a 5-0 drubbing at Mottisfont, with Nick Beattie (3), Charlie Cole and Harry Dancer on the money.

AFC Hutwood and Athletico Millbrook shared the points in a 3-3 draw, Paul Mail (2) and Nick Kellaway on target for Hutwood and Ethan Clement, Brendon Beezley and Harrison Weeks replying for Millbrook.

A 4-2 win over AFC Riverside kept Pavilion Panthers top of Division Three, courtesy of doubles from Nathan Cookson and Jake Willis-Dellimore. Jacob Zovich and Marvis Itua replied for Riverside.

Panthers’ cause was helped by a 2-3 defeat for Sporting Compass at the hands of Lyndhurst Reserves. Mark Bradley’s hat-trick did the damage, with Mitchell Stedman and Luke Biffin consoling Compass.

But lurking ominously are Woolston T&L, who made it two wins from two with a 6-3 victory over Embley Park, thanks to goals from George Fairless (3), Crag Hunt (2) and Liam Collins.

In Division Six, Johnno Townsend’s double was not enough for AFC Phoenix, who went down 5-2 to Elephant and Castle and in the sole Division Seven game, Sarisbury Spartans 3rd and Fleming Athletic slugged out a goalless draw.
