Steven Gerrard makes a return to Rangers

ACCORDING to reports, Steven Gerrard is closing in on a deal that would see him make a return to management.

After leaving Al-Ettifaq earlier this year, the 45 year old could be in for a second stint at Rangers.

The Scottish side have had their worst start to the season since 1978, with Russell Martin having the lowest win percentage of any Rangers manager in history.

The fans certainly let their say leading up to the sacking of Martin, sending boos ringing round Ibrox and bombarded his car as he left the ground the other day.

However, the ex England and Liverpool player might just be the one to restore faith at the club.

His first time at Rangers lasted three years and was a huge success.

In March 2021, he won the Scottish Premiership title going unbeaten, getting 102 points and only conceding 13 goals over 38 matches.

This record breaking season, saw him leave the club in the November of that year and moving to Aston Villa.

11 months into his spell as manager, he was sacked after winning just two out of the opening 12 games of the 2022/23 season.

If his return is as good as his first time, then Gerrard will have nothing to worry about.
