Solent Women’s Volleyball team ready for an unstoppable season!

For this week, we went to the Sports complex to speak to the Solent Women’s Volleyball team, a squad full of promising members varying in different levels of playing experience.

Specifically, we spoke to Levana De Sousa and Jessica Ireton the setter and the outside hitter who have recently joined the squad.

The last time the ladies volleyball team won any silverware, was when Uptown funk by Bruno Mars was the number one hit in the country!

This year they’re looking to change that, sharing their thoughts on the upcoming season and giving predictions for their next game against Falmouth university in which Jessica claimed ” they have never played against”.

She later reveals in the interview that she is looking forward to facing new opposition.

The girls touched on the social side of Volleyball, as well as how much they have learnt in training despite the small amount of time at the club.

Whilst Volleyball is a niche sport, it is rapidly growing in popularity with more people joining their local clubs.

We look forward to see how the ladies get on with their season, we wish them the best of luck!
