AMERICAN Football side Solent Redhawks will be hoping to put the disappointing campaign last year behind them as they take on Southampton University in a friendly this weekend.
Last season the team failed to win any of their five games, but with a major overhaul of players things are starting to improve and look up.
16 players graduated and they have since had 30 people sign up to join the team.
Linebacker Ibaad Ahmed acknowledged the poor season but referred to injuries, other commitments and a lack of communication as the main reasons for a disappointing season last time around.
“It wasn’t a great season, no. The boys worked really hard, everyone played their hearts out. I think there was just a lot of miscommunication, lots of injuries going on. Tonnes of people had other things to worry about as well.”
