Solent Darts UDUK Darts first season double?

THE Solent Darts have the potential to create history and claim a historic double in their first year of competing in the UDUK Darts.

Following four wins from four games in the UDUK Darts South division, the Solent Darts A team also overcame Warwick in the Challenge Cup first round last week.

The team travel to Wembley tomorrow afternoon in the League as they look to extend their unbeaten run and margin at the top of the table.

A team star player, Luke Bentall, said: “We’ve definitely got the players to do it and I’m very confident we can take the double home.”

In the next round of the Challenge Cup, the Solent Darts will host Birmingham with a potential fixture against Nottingham or Southampton if they’re victorious.

Bentall said: “If we play like we did yesterday [against Warwick], we will definitely be able to come away with the win and hopefully get further.

Obviously, we don’t know who they are so we’re stepping into the unknown a bit but we can definitely take the win.”

The society hosts their Premier League every Thursday night in Sharkey’s Sports Bar. This provides the players with an opportunity to practice each week and refine their game.

The team has been focusing on switching up their darts from the 20s to the 19s in order to keep scoring high. This will give them the best chance of winning legs and therefore matches.

The side will be hoping this practice stands them in good stead for their league game against Wembley tomorrow afternoon and their Round-of-16 cup fixture against Birmingham in a couple of weeks.
