Solent Darts Insist it’s Possible to Appear at Nationals

DESPITE recent defeats to Portsmouth in the UDUK Challenge Cup and the South League, Solent Darts remain confident in a Nationals appearance in their debut season.

Solent University’s Darts team was founded in November 2024, and joined the UDUK for the current academic year competing alongside University of Southampton, Portsmouth, UCFB Wembley, Winchester, and Bournemouth in the South League.

They were top of the table at Christmas, and were looking in a great place for a Nationals appearance and a top four place in the Challenge Cup; however, defeats to Portsmouth saw them get knocked of the cup and drop out of the top two in the league.

Solent did get right back on track last Wednesday, with 10-1, 11-0 wins over UCFB, and with games against Winchester and Bournemouth coming up they will feel they can build the confidence needed to get the wins they require.

Despite some tough form since the start of semester two, President Max Parsons-Williams is very pleased with how everything has gone this year.

“I think if we play like we did yesterday then i don’t think anyone really stands a chance.

That what’s been so frustrating about the last couple of weeks”

With wins in their next two matches, it will leave a clash with varsity rivals Southampton on the final day of the season to decide who will travel up to Loughborough for the highly-anticipated Nationals.
