Saliba Stays at Arsenal: Defender Agrees To New 2030 Deal

William Saliba is expected to have inked a new deal with Arsenal which will keep him a Gunner until 2030.

The 24 year old French international followed his center-back partner, Gabriel, in signing a new deal, the Brazilian extended his own contract in June this year, extending his contract until 2029.

This follows a summer which could’ve been Saliba’s last in North London with reported interest from Real Madrid overhanging the Frenchman’s last few months.

Saliba originally signed in 2019, one of Unai Emery’s last signings in charge of Arsenal, but had to undergo 3 consecutive loan moves back to France before being introduced to the Gunnar’s squad in 2022.

After a stellar season, he was awarded a new contract, which was set to last until 2027. He proceeded to play every single minute of the 2023/2024 Premier League season, the first ever outfield player to do so for the Gunners.

Saliba has been included in the PFA Team of the season every year since the 2022/2023 season, the only player included in all of the last three seasons, a testament to his consistency as a defender.

It’s unsurprising that Arsenal boss, Mikel Arteta is keen to keep the current defence intact, signing contract extensions with 3 out of the 4 first team defenders in 2025.

Arsenal have managed to concede only 2 goals in the opening 5 games of the 2025 season, tied lowest alongside Crystal Palace, cementing how good the Gunner’s defence has been.
