Ryan Seager’s late comeback rescues Havant & Waterlooville a point

HAVANT & WATERLOOVILLE staged a dramatic, late game comeback to earn a 3-3 draw against Uxbridge at Westleigh Park.

The Hawks were denied an early opener when a promising attack was ruled offside. Just minutes later Uxbridge capitalised at the other end and took the lead, Havant & Waterlooville kept up the pressure and refused to let the game slip away.

It was captain Ryan Seager who stepped up in the dying stages of the match. He scored an ambitious overhead kick and then late into stoppage time he managed to grab the crucial equaliser.

He said: “It’s always better scoring goals when you are winning, but to get us back in the game it’s always good.”

Fans kept up the motivation for the squad with their relentless singing and chanting and were rewarded with a draw.

Manager Shaun North is focused on consistency within the games for the upcoming fixtures.

“We have a few games where we can just get back-to-back with it. We’ve just got to get consistent with our performance.”

A quick turnaround is on for the Hawks as they are set to play Wednesday at home against Hanwell Town.
