REVIEW: Five games go to the wire in NFL Week 3, all decided on the final play

NFL fans were kept on the edge of their seats last night, as five games went all the way down to the final play.

Whilst most NFL games are decided with plenty of time on the clock, seeing the winning team kneel and let the time run-out, that script got thrown out of the window yesterday.

The Superbowl champions, Philadelphia Eagles had to make a huge comeback to keep their undefeated streak, at one point being 19 points behind the Los Angeles Rams

The last play of the game should’ve seen the Rams kick a field goal and leave victorious but defensive lineman Jordan Davis, blocked the field goal and outran everyone to score a last second touchdown.

Fans thought they were seeing double as New York Jets’ defensive end Will McDonald managed the same feat, although his touchdown wasn’t enough as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers scored a walk-off field goal to steal the victory.

The Buccaneers’ victory means they match the Eagles at 3-0 to start the season, the first time Tampa Bay has been undefeated at this stage in 20 years.

That isn’t as impressive as the Los Angeles Chargers who managed to start their season 3-0 in similar fashion, beating the Denver Broncos with a last second field goal, the first time they achieved this feat in 23 years.

The Cleveland Browns managed to score their final ditch field goal to defeat the Green Bay Packers 13-10, punishing Packer’s quarterback Jordan Love who threw his first interception of the calendar year.

Mac Jones managed to keep his cool and lead the San Francisco 49ers into field goal territory in the dying seconds to beat the Arizona Cardinals as he continued to stand-in at quarterback for the injured Brock Purdy.

Whilst these games were keeping the energy till the last second, the rest of the NFL were far more secure, with the Atlanta Falcons getting demolished 30-0 by the Carolina Panthers.

Patrick Mahomes celebrated his 30th birthday with a bounceback 22-9 victory over the New York Giants, getting the Chiefs first win of the campaign.
