Southampton based Basketball side, the Solent Kestrels, will have their first home game of the season this weekend against Barking Abbey.
This comes after an emphatic 30 point win over the Greenwich Titans which kickstarted the new 2025/26 season.
Last season, the Kestrels successfully completed their promotion into Division One putting them in elite competition against some of the country’s best.
Solent claimed their promotion with a 82-63 dominant display in Manchester over Barking Abbey. A starring role by lead guard, Andre Arissol, in which he scored 28 points on 6/9 shooting from 3 point range.
Yet the team has significantly changed over the summer with new arrivals such as Luke Busumbru who was part of the squad when they were in Division One years ago. The Kestrels have also acquired bags of young talent from local Itchen college, popularly known for its development of current NBA player, Jeremy Sochan.
However, with the crowd of the Solent Sports complex and the support of the city of Southampton, both versatile forward Gregoire Durand and Arissol believe it could help push them to a victory at home
