The Premier league returns this weekend after the international break with the Merseyside Derby getting things underway at 12:30 on Saturday.
Prediction: Liverpool 3 – 0 Everton
Liverpool slowly look like they are getting back to their best after a bright start to the season with only 1 loss coming to a controversial game against Spurs. Everton however have started where they finished last season, poorly. The toffees have only picked up seven points so far this season.
Prediction: Man City 2 – 1 Brighton
Man City have lost 3 in their last 4 games and key player Kevin De Bruyne seems to be a missing part for the City team. Brighton however, are on hot form right now in both the league and Europa League. The Seagulls sit 2 points behind last years champions. The blues however are at home and may give them the edge to get their season back on track.
Prediction: Chelsea 1 – 3 Arsenal
Arsenal currently sit joint top of the Premier League with Tottenham and won their last game 1-0 beating Manchester City. Chelsea however have not started the way they wanted to and with the money they have spent this summer. They sit 11th in the league and only have 11 points in 8 games.
Prediction: Newcastle 2 – 0 Crystal Palace
Newcastle recored an emphatic home win in the Champions League a few weeks ago against PSG and will be high in confidence in the coming weeks. Crystal Palace however are not doing to bad themselves as they sit 9th in the league and only have one less point than Newcastle. Despite their form, Newcastle at home is unbearable.
Sheffield United 2 – 1 Man United:
Despite not having a win this season yet and suffering a heavy 8-0 loss to Newcastle a few weekends ago, Sheffield United are showing some positive play in their football. Man Utd have not been in the best form themselves and have also had off-field dramas to worry about. However, positive news could be heading to Old Trafford with talks of Sir Jim Radcliffe buying a stake in the club.
Bournemouth 1 – 2 Wolves
Bournemouth are the only other winless team in the league with three draws and five losses. Wolves however are starting to put some good performances together but still sit 14th in the league.
Brentford 1 – 0 Burnley
Another two teams who haven’t had a great start to the season are Brentford and Burnley. Burnley ran riot in the Championship last season but haven’t quite shown the promise that everyone had hope under Vincent Kompany this season. Brentford were one of the surprise packages of the league last season but a run of draws and losses, sees them sit 15th in the league.
Nottingham Forest 2 – 0 Luton Town
Luton fans must be loving life in the Premier League this season even if they do have 6 losses. However, with one win and one draw, they sit 17th in the league and outside the relegation zone. Forest yet again this summer spent a lot as they look to cement their place in the Premier League.
Aston Villa 2 – 2 West Ham
Both teams are in amazing form so far this season and are both doing well in their respective European competitions. Villa sit 5th in the league on 16 points and West Ham sit 7th on 14 points. The Hammers have only lost two games this season, both 3-1 to Man City and Liverpool.
