SAINTS boss Ivan Juric has delivered positive team news ahead of Saturday’s clash with Ipswich Town.
The Saints could welcome back Aaron Ramsdale, Kamaldeen Sulemana, and Tyler Dibling as they travel to Suffolk to face the Tractor Boys, after all three missed last Saturday’s 3-1 defeat to Newcastle at St. Mary’s.
However, they will be without Nathan Wood and Ryan Fraser—though neither have been a regular under the Croatian’s management.
Speaking on Thursday ahead of the clash, Juric confirmed that all three had returned to training this week, with some making quicker progress than expected.
“Kamaldeen and Dibling trained today with us, and they will be with us. We had problems with Fraser and Woody, not big ones, but they will be out for this game.”
The 18-year-old’s initial prognosis was four to six weeks after picking up an ankle injury in the defeat at Manchester United, but Juric is confident he’s ready for Saturday.
“Dibling has recovered already, and like I said, he did all training today and he’s ready. Aaron Ramsdale did one part of the training today. Tomorrow, I think he will be OK.”
Although Juric’s tenure has been largely underwhelming so far, he has managed to get the best out of Kamaldeen Sulemana—a player who was deemed surplus to requirements under former boss Russell Martin.
After joining in January 2023 for, the Ghanaian had failed to live up to any expectations, scoring just three times in 58 appearances.
But since Russell Martin’s departure, the 22-year-old has been revitalised, featuring in all but one game since then.
Saints fans could also see first glimpses of January arrivals, Wellington and Albert Gronbaek, with Juric impressed by the pairs training.
“Yeah, now I know him (Wellington) better. I think he trained very well, and I will give him a chance against Ipswich, either in the beginning or during the match.
“Normally I talk with the players and I was watching him for two or three weeks to see all the quality, and now I think he’s starting to be ready.”
Gronbaek signed on loan from Rennes last week, with an option to buy in the summer.
“He did a good week. He’s an interesting player, a very interesting player in attack because he’s quick, very good technique, and he did a very good week. Maybe even he can play.”
