Injuries are what all athletes within the sporting world dread and try to avoid all throughout their careers.
Some sports suffer this fate more than others on average. One of those is Rugby, who on average suffers over two and a half injuries in game compared to Footballers.
Many injured feel the pressure to try and make their way back into Rugby and their respective sports as soon as possible, but have the challenge of not trying to further disrupt their recovery.
However, it isn’t just those injured that feel the pressure of injuries and their impact. Physios and Medics are responsible with looking after players and potentially may have careers in their hands
We went to Solent Rugby, and we spoke to Josh Smith, who recently tore his ACL and will miss the whole of the 2024-25 Solent Rugby season, as well as having to get surgery.
We also spoke to the teams physio and 2nd year at Solent Zack Young, as he talks about his experiences within the sport and how he enjoys the challenge of the sport.
