Highs and lows of working in football club media

WORKING in a football club’s media team is one of the best jobs around and also one of the worst at the same time.

The thrills of experiencing last minute goals and derby-day victories versus the seemingly endless away day journeys, and what better epitomises this than a Tuesday night trip to Truro?

The 410-mile round-trip is certainly not for the faint-hearted but for Eastleigh FCs media team it became reality on Tuesday 30th September.

The five hour journey through the British countryside from the Silverlake Stadium to the Truro City Stadium is certainly one to behold and the views and stunning scenery across Dorset and Cornwall help to diminish the boredom somewhat.

The thought of leaving Eastleigh at 1pm and not returning until 2:30am the following morning is not something anyone wishes to be thinking about, however, it was all worth it as Eastleigh returned to the Silverlake with all three points following a 2-0 victory.
