Jack Grealish, Jude Bellingham and Phil Foden have all missed out on the England squad for the upcoming friendly against Wales and World Cup Qualifier against Latvia.
Grealish has racked up four assists in six Premier League games since moving to Everton in the summer; the highest total of any player in the division. He also leads the way for chances created and expected assists, making him comfortably the league’s most creative player in its opening months.
Recently named England’s 2025 player of the year, Bellingham has only played 100 minutes for Real Madrid this season and is yet to register a goal or assist, but he will undoubtedly return for next year’s squad to take to America.
Foden is beginning to right the wrongs of a surprising downturn in form last season, where he picked up 24 fewer goal contributions than the year prior, but despite a recent goal in the Manchester derby the midfielder hasn’t managed to force himself into the England squad.
Adam Wharton of Crystal Palace has also been left out, despite the Eagles extending their record unbeaten run to 19 games last night. The holding midfielder tops the Premier League for big chances created with five.
Fit to return are Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka and Manchester City’s John Stones, who have amassed a combined 127 England caps, across four international tournaments. The centre half will be making his first appearances for the nation since this time last year.
