SPORTS Interactive, the company behind the game Football Manager, have announced the delay of the the next instalment (FM25) until March 2025.
Originally scheduled for an early November release , on September 4th the studio announced a three week delay.
In a post on their website Sports Interactive said: ” We simply cannot compromise the delivery of this crucial juncture in Football Manager’s history by rushing to release it in November.”
“This additional time has not been sufficient to ensure the game quality and experience meets your expectations and our very high standards.”
“In the previous blog we explained that it has been a difficult development cycle for the studio. Many things have been moving slower than we had predicted – despite everyone in the team working at an incredible pace to try and get everything done.”
Football Manager 25 has been billed as the ‘New Era’ of the game with big improvements to the graphics (after switching to the Unity Game Engine) and the introduction of women’s football.
The studio received criticism in September, for the initial three week delay, as well as the removal of gameplay features such as International management and player weights.
Despite this, the game was made available for pre-order on September 30th, and refunds are being offered to those who wish to cancel theirs.
