Female drivers continue to be backed by Formula one in new deal

F1 Academy and Formula 1 announced that they have continued with their multi-year partnership in support of all female drivers.

All ten current Formula 1 teams have committed to sponsor an F1 Academy livery.

Cadillac Formula 1 team, who are entering F1 in 2026. will also join the grid as a sponsor in 2027.

The Academy was introduced to provide a gateway for women to participate in motorsport and widen the appeal of the sport to attract more female drivers.

It was founded in 2023 but in 2024 it was put on to the support bill at many grands prix where all the F1 teams supported drivers.

Abbi Pulling was represented by Alpine and she won the title in 2024 and has now gone onto graduating at the GB3 championship.

F1 Academy was introduced following the liquidated W-Series in 2022 which was an all female single-seater championship.

Chris Mott is a formula one content creator and he said:

“When f1 academy first started it wasn’t on the Grand Prix weekend so it didn’t get the coverage it should have”

“It’s not about finding a driver now, it’s for the future”

“If we only have 2 years for each driver we will go through them quite quickly

sometimes two seasons in the junior category really isn’t enough”
