Fan favourite leaves Eastleigh for fellow National League side Dorking Wanderers

Charlie Carter has left the Spitfires for an undisclosed fee to join Surrey side, Dorking Wanderers, after 59 appearances for the Hampshire side.

The midfielder joined Eastleigh from Sky Bet League Two side Stevenage in 2022 for a free transfer and scored 11 goals during his time at the Silverlake Stadium.

The last of his 11 goals came against National League South side Dover Athletic, on Saturday, in their 1-0 victory to progress into the first round of the FA Cup; Eastleigh will play Boreham Wood for the third straight year in the competition in the next stage of the tournament.

In a statement from the Eastleigh website, the Hampshire side reveal – “Carter has made the decision to pursue the opportunity to join Dorking Wanderers after a bid was put in for him from the Surrey side.”

Eastleigh now turn their attention back to the pitch and the league where they will lock horns with York City on Saturday at the Silverlake Stadium.
