Daniel Ricciardo declared that his RB have “a point to prove” and that the team can finish in top five next season.
This statement was made after RB announced their new car for the 2024 race campaign.

The eight time race winner spoke about how the previously called Alpha Tauri team need to be ambitious going into the season.
Ricciardo said;” You have to aim high, but being in this sport so long, you want to remain realistic as you don’t want to end up ultimately disappointed.”
Last year Allpha Tauri failed to deliver to their high standards finishing eighth out of ten teams in the 2023 Constructor’s table.
However the Australian emphasised ;” Top-fives should be a target and if we get into that position, maybe some podiums present themselves.”
After being quizzed about his optimistic outlook;”Do I think top-five results are on the table-and could they be on the table in the first half of the season? I’d like to think so.”
Ricciardo took over the reigns at Alpha Tauri last season after 2021 formula E champion Nyck De Vries underperformed being kicked out of the team after only 11 races!
The 2024 season will be the 34 year olds 14th year in the sport after putting on his F1 race gloves for the first time in 2011 with HRT who no longer exist.
Ricciardo is fully prepared to get back out on the track after a hard working pre-season.
RBS number one driver explained;”Personally, the off-season didn’t feel like I was just on the couch.
“I mentally stayed in it so getting back in the car won’t feel like I haven’t driven for a few months – so I expect to get back into the swing straight away.”
