ENGLAND welcome the flying Fijians to the Allianz stadium tomorrow for their second game of the Quilter Nations series off the back of a 25-7 win against Australia.
The most notable names that are on the team sheet include Fin Smith starting at fly-half, with Marcus Smith starting at full-back.
A notable name that is not on the team sheet at all is Sale fly-half George Ford, who has been performing well recently for club and country.
During the Lions tour over the summer, Ford took the ten shirt for England’s tour of the Americas, as both the Smiths were called up for the Lions.
But with head coach Steve Borthwick preferring Fin Smith at ten, and Marcus Smith having the versatility to play 15, there is no room for the veteran in the squad at the moment.
England assistant head coach Kevin Sinfield admitted it is very difficult to keep all three players happy.
In fact, when asked by Rugby Union Weekly how he keeps them all happy, he replied frankly.
“You don’t”
He expanded: “But that is how it should be. At this level there is always someone who is a little disgruntled, who has maybe has a little bit of frustration.
“They are all impatient because they all want to play now, and want the shirt now, but an understanding of that is how it is different to their clubs – and their selflessness and putting the team first – is really important.”
