AFC Porchester faced Fareham Town in a local derby as they played out a 0-0 draw in wet and windy conditions on Tuesday.
Since Covid 19, many lower league clubs have been affected financially and attendance is really importan, which is why international break is so beneficial for them.
Recently, there has been an increase in fans venturing out more locally which is so positive for non league football.
The vice chairman of Porchester Graeme Moir: says that they always look for when the international break is because they could have crowds of up to 1700 which generates a lot of income for the club.
This is what he said:
“our crowds have gone up from 150-200 in this fixture in the past to 1700, 1800”
“It really does help when it’s not clashing with any other football”
“People tend to venture out since covid and tended to look more locally”
