Controversy surrounds Sam Kerr after racially charged incident on night out

MORE details from the Sam Kerr trial as the Australia star called a Metropolitan Police officer “Stupid and White” following her arrest on a night out.

The Matilda’s star had been arrested following a row in a cab. Kerr refused to pay for the cleaning fees after she threw up in the back of the cab.

The Taxi driver chose to drive to Twickenham police station in a bid to end the dispute as was advised by the emergency responder on the phone.

As this was occurring Kerr was under the impression that she and her partner were being abducted by the taxi driver and started to behave erratically.

Upon arrival at Twickenham police station, the officers attending to the taxi noticed that there was broken glass and that Kerr had allegedly climbed out of broken rear window.

Before being taken inside the station by the two Metropolitan Police officers attending the scene.

Inside the station Kerr told her side of the events to PC Stephen Lovell, upon realising that the officer was sceptical of her story Kerr called the officer “Stupid and White”.

Kerr was charged with causing racially aggravated intentional harassment, alarm or distress in Twickenham, south-west London, on 30 January 2023. Her trial continues this week.
