SOLENT students travelled up to The Charters Community stadium to get an insight of women in a male dominated sport.
They spoke to sports physio Jo Brown who has been at the club for around two years and Brown believes that, “It is an exciting time for women to get into football as there is more opportunities and funding.”
In football, 89% of women have received discrimination in the work place but for Brown she has a different outlook on working around men day in, day out.
Brown said: “They are all like my close mates.”
The sports physio had fallen out of love with the sport before joining Winchester City, but manager Craig Davis, can not give her enough praise.
Davis: “She had fallen out of love a bit with football but she’s been a breath of fresh air, and I could not ask for better.”
