SOUTHAMPTON aren’t playing tonight but two of their players, David Brooks and Jan Bednarek, are set to feature in a huge Euro playoff match which will take place in the Cardiff City Stadium.
Wales and Poland will clash this evening to decide which of the two countries will be travelling to Germany in the summer to compete on Europes biggest stage.
In Wales’ semifinal playoff match against Finland on Thursday, Brooks contributed with a goal and an assist in what was a very promising 4-1 win.
His recent form for saints has been impressive as he has racked up two goals and three assists in the eight games he has played for them.
The Welshman has featured 28 times for his national side and will be hoping to play at the Euro finals as well.
Defender, Bednarek will be swapping the red and white of Southampton for the same colours of his national team.
He was a part of the Polish defence that won 5-1 against a 10 man Estonia side and has been a consistent feature for his national side, playing at every level from under 16s, to the senior squad.
Brooks and Bednarek have only been teammates since the Welsh midfielder joined Southampton on loan from Bournemouth in January but they will have to put any relationship they have built between each other to the side this evening.
