It is ‘Inclusivity Week’ this week, at Solent University.
When it comes to inclusivity, Brentford is the shining star of the Premier League.
The Gtech Community Stadium was designed to accommodate for all disabilities and unlike most other clubs in English football, especially those with older stadiums, the press box and areas are fully accessible to all.
Amelia Archer, Media Executive at Brentford FC said: “The press box, media room, press conference room, photography areas, players tunnel and pitch side are all easily accessible to those with additional accessibility requirements.
I hope that other clubs in the process of designing or building a new stadium consider accessibility as much as it was here at Brentford.”
Aside from The Bees’ excellent accessible facilities for journalists at the stadium, a huge consideration is made about disabled fans, also.
Archer went on to say: “We have an entire team dedicated to supporting disabled fans on a match day – both home and away fans.
There is accessible and disabled seating all around the stadium to ensure match days are for everyone.
It’s not only disabled fans we cater for, but our team also help those with young children, elderly people and there is a clear thought process in making match days a possible experience for everyone and anyone”.
Solent’s very own Sports Journalist, Sam Fryer, went down to The Gtech to find out more.
