Former Liverpool and England manager, Roy Hodgson is back in a job and will take charge of the Robins on an interim basis. This comes after they have just sacked manager, Gerhard Struber after a run of six games in all competitions without a win, notably losing to Port Vale in the FA Cup.
The 78 year old has been retired for two years after leaving Crystal Palace in 2024 but has made a shock return to management until the end of the season.
The oldest manager to work in English professional football has increased his own record which he set for Crystal Palace when he was 76.
The Robins find themselves sitting in 16th place, twelve points off play offs and relegation so really Hodgson will be coming in to steady the ship, in preparation for next season.
But who knows, will Hodgson stay on beyond the season?
Hodgson did have a brief spell as manager of Bristol City in 1982 but only lasted four months.
Bristol City face Charlton on Easter Friday which will be the Englishman’s first game in charge.
