Chantelle Cameron is aiming to set up bouts against the worlds best welterweights, Mikaela Mayer and Lauren Price.
Cameron who is a former undisputed world champion at the super-lightweight has moved out of her weight class and will fight Michaela Kotaskova for the WBO super-welterweight title on April 5th.
Cameron expects Mayer and Price to fight for the undisputed championship and then wants to fight the winner in her next bout.
“One of them’ is going to become undisputed and I’m going to be on their tail as well because I want to be in those big fights, big nights and challenge myself,”
“I will take those kind of fights and make my own history and my own legacy.”
Cameron has beaten then lost to Irish superstar Katie Taylor in 2023. She didn’t hesitate to call for a rematch to decide their 1-1 series but never materialised.
“I hope she becomes undisputed (Mikaela Mayer), and I hope I take the belts after.”
There is currently no confirmed date for a bout between Mikaela Mayer and Lauren Price. While both fighters have expressed a strong desire to meet for the undisputed welterweight world championship, negotiations have remained protracted due to disagreements over terms and venue locations.
