World champion Luke Humphries made it three night wins in a row as he defeated Michael Smith to take a night eight victory in Dublin.
Humphries took a 6-2 win in the final after beating Peter Wright and Nathan Aspinall in the previous rounds.
The 29-year-old is now seven points clear of second place Michael van Gerwen after losing to Gerwyn Price in the first match.
Humphries told Sky Sports he now believes that only two players in the world are capable of beating him on current form:
“I feel like if I play my ‘A’ game, there are only a couple of people who can test me in that manner; I think Luke Littler and Michael van Gerwen are the two that can push me and their ‘A’ level can beat me.”
“Anything can happen and if I don’t keep playing like this then anybody can beat me,” added Humphries.
“I feel like I’m playing the best darts in the world, especially in the past six or seven months consistently, but there are so many great players and anything can happen every week.”
After beating van Gerwen, Price marginally missed out on a first final after missing a dart at bull in his 6-5 semi-final loss to Smith.
Michael Smith had beaten Luke Littler in the quarter final 6-4, whilst Aspinall had the better of Rob Cross.
Night nine takes place on Thursday, 28 March in Belfast.
